The 2019 Loo of the Year Awards
2019 saw the commencement of the search for the UK’s best ‘away from home’ washroom.
Since the introduction of the awards in 1987, The Loo of the Year awards hold annual competitions that showcase the very best washrooms throughout the UK and Ireland. Because of this, The Loo of the Year Awards are recognised as standards-setters, for those who provide ‘away from home’ facilities for staff, customers and visitors.
Indepth Managed Services are delighted to be the proud recipients of The Loo of the Year Award 2019, within the healthcare sector.
Established in 1978, Indepth Managed Services are a commercial cleaning company that provide cleaning solutions, on a national scale. Indepth manage and facilitate hundreds of cleaning contracts, ensuring that cleaning standards are consistent throughout all sites.
With this in mind, they were obvious contenders for The Loo of the Year Awards!
The winning loo for healthcare, was awarded to Indepth’s Eagle Bridge - NHS Health Centre, with whom they have sustained a strong working relationship. Indepth specialise in Healthcare cleaning and understand the importance of extremely thorough and consistently high cleaning standards. Eagle Bridge’s toilets are maintained by Indepth’s dedicated team of Cleaning Operatives, who are trained to the highest industry standards.
As a commercial cleaning company, it is imperative that Indepth aim to reduce their environmental impact. All cleaning is completed without the use of bleach and/or harsh chemicals, and all equipment emit low emissions. Indepth aim to eradicate the use of harmful chemicals, and utilise safer, more sustainable substitutes, without compromising their cleaning standards.
Indepth’s Health and Safety Director, Darran Yates, is the driving force behind new innovations, and keeping Indepth up-to-date with the latest Health and Safety regulations. When receiving the award, Darran said,
“I am extremely proud of our Cleaning Operatives and their dedication. Receiving this award solidifies our extremely high standards, and confirms that you can achieve excellent results whilst remaining environmentally conscious. We would not be able to accept this award if it wasn’t for our Clients at Eagle Bridge; their facilities and standards are extremely high.”
All participants received an unannounced visit from a Loo of the Year Awards Inspector. Assessed against 101 judging criteria, standards of cleanliness, inclusive of signage and décor, fixtures and fittings, were evaluated. Every washroom received a grading that ranged from Bronze to Platinum. Gold and Platinum winners were thereby shortlisted for one or more of several National Awards covering England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and the Irish Republic.
This year, across the sixty-one separate categories within the competition, thousands of toilets were scrutinised and judged. Indepth’s toilet was chosen for its impeccable cleaning standards and because of this, were worthy winners of the competition.
